Swayambhunath eyes are carved on the pendant. Swayambhunath (monkey temple) along with the huge Boudhanath stupa to the east, is one of the most ancient and holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. It sits in a hill in the west of Kathmandu overlooking the city. On each of the four sides of the main stupa of Swayambhunath temple, there is a pair of big eyes of which represent wisdom and compassion. Above each pair of eyes is another eye. Saying goes that when Buddha preaches, cosmic rays emanate from the third eye which acts as message to heavenly beings, so that those interested can come down to earth to listen to the Buddha. The hellish beings and beings below the human realm cannot come to earth to listen to the Buddha's teaching; however, the cosmic ray relieves their suffering when Buddha preaches.

This is a pendant made by the Nepali craftsmen. The pendant is made of natural yak bone found in the the foot of himalayas. The himalayans believe that they absorb spiritual power from the yak bones, giving them an added measure of sound and spiritual meaning. It is made by the Nepali craftsmen in Nepal.
