Shakyamuni Buddha Statue made of copper with gold plated body and gold paintd face made by Newar artists in Nepal.

Product Description

Shakyamuni Buddha also known as Gautam Buddha was born in 563 B.C

at Lumbini, western part of Nepal. He attained " Bodhi Gyana" enlightenment

that is a state of Nirvana after 6 years of meditation. He was then called the

enlightened one "Buddha". He died at age of 80 at Kusinagara. To distinguish

from all other Buddha, he is called Shakyamuni (The lion of Shakya clan),

the son of king Suddhodana and queen Mayadevi.

Shakyamuni Buddha Statue brings peace and enlightenment in your body

and mind. A statue or painting of a Buddha is called  "Buddharupa" in Sanskrit

which means "The form of an Enlightened One." Buddhists have used such

images for thousands of years to show how the Truth can be found within oneself

through the practice of meditation and spiritual training. Thus, a statue of

Shakyamuni does more than commemorate a historical figure. It is a reminder

of the spiritual potential inherent within all of us to be awakened to the Truth as

Buddha, a fellow human being did.

Buddhists usually place figures of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas on their altars.

Bowing and offering incense at these altars expresses both the recognition of

the sublime spiritual qualities represented by these statues and the aspiration

to manifest these same qualities within ourselves.

The statue is a fine work of Art handmade by Newar artists in Patan, Nepal.
